Follow the larval research

Rev D's mounting system is a prototype: digital checks have passed, but physical fit and load performance remain untested. Print the connector test pieces first, check tank fit, and supervise initial use.

One body print

The eleven separate components occupy 210 × 209 mm. Allow room for your brim, or split into objects and print in batches. Choose one screen for assembly. An external light, a cut clear panel and assembly hardware are required.

Rev D · Modular mounting

Fixed universal clips are built into the body. Hooks, suction-cup carriers and padded screw mounts download as separate left/right pairs. The body print now also includes the lid, corrected gate, baffle and all seven screen inserts, retaining their Rev C.1 geometry.

Rev C.1 · Gate fit correction

Gate narrowed by 0.96 mm, from 28.00 to 27.04 mm, following a printed-part measurement. Body and guides unchanged. Existing Rev C owners only need to reprint the gate.

Rev C · Body, lid & mounting update

Rear mounting ears and window lip removed; the funnel became integral with a solid base. Nylon lid bolts and a screen-retaining stop were added, alongside wider trial screens, an open frame and two adjustable over-rim hangers.

Gate-only fit correction. The body, guides and adjustable hangers carry forward from Rev C; existing owners only need to reprint the gate.

Gate width reduced by 0.96 mm, from 28.00 to 27.04 mm, following a printed-part measurement.

Rev C · September 23, 2026 · Original gate

Original Rev C package. Its 28 mm gate was reported too wide; use the corrected gate from Rev C.1 for the fit correction.

Changes from Rev B

Removed the rear mounting ears and 1 mm window lip to keep the rear face clear against the tank glass.
Integrated the funnel into the body and filled the cavities beneath it; cleaning uses flushing through both ends.
Added external nylon lid bolts and a lid stop to retain the screen insert.
Added 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 mm trial screens with thinner ribs and entrance bevels, plus an open frame for larval-only vessels. The 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0 mm options remain available.
Added two adjustable over-rim hangers with vertical slots and padded nylon clamping screws.
